Lawyer at the Cameroon and Paris Bars, Aurélie Chazai focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, bank financing, project financing, commercial contracts, corporate restructuring and real estate transactions.
Aurélie Chazai was an associate in the Paris office of the English firm AshurstLLP before joining in 2014 the Paris office of the American firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. During her experiences, she had the opportunity to intervene on the corporate and financial aspects of numerous transactions in Europe and Africa (especially in member countries of OHADA).
Aurélie Chazai has also worked in the law firms of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, Linklaters LLP, CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre and Ernst & Young in Paris, as well as in the stock market and financial law department of the asset management company AXA Investment Managers.
She was a lecturer in banking law at the University of Cergy Pontoise (France) from 2012 to 2013.
Aurélie Chazai holds a Master 2 Research in Financial Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, a Master 2 Professional in Business and Tax Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, as well as a Master 1 in Tax Law and a License in Private Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne. She speaks French and English fluently.
She is a member of the African Business Lawyers’ Club (ABLC), a club dedicated to promoting better business practice in Africa, and is also a member of the Association des Juristes Camerounais de France (AJCF), an association committed to promoting the “Cameroon” destination to investors in France.
